While it may seem like a long shot that Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso will be able to overcome the 21 point deficit to current championship leader, Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez, the Italian rider is refusing to give up on the title fight and is hoping that his rivals tendency to always give 110% will actually be his downfall in Valencia this coming weekend.

Like Lewis Hamilton in the Mexican Grand Prix almost two weeks ago, Marquez doesn't need to win the race to take the title as there is such a big gap to Dovi he can afford to just enjoy the race and go at a steady pace to ensure his title success.

But, as Dovizioso has pointed out, and fans worldwide know to be true, that is not Marquez's style and he will still give everything he's got and more to take the title with a masterful victory.

And it's this fact that Dovi is banking on, sort of…

"He is very good and knows how to handle these situations well," said Dovi of the championship battle. "It is also true that when he sees an opportunity, he struggles to restrain himself, and then an error can always happen.”

Despite this, the Italian rider knows he has to give his all to win Sunday's title showdown, as nothing short of victory will give him the title, and he is not too sure on that happening...

“Talking about his mistakes makes no sense. Our strategy is to try and win the race," he said. "Maybe us winning is less likely than Marquez retiring. Valencia has features that are not easy for our bike, but last year we were not so far away. This year we will be more competitive."
