Royal Melbourne has been chosen to host the 2019 Presidents Cup.

It is the third time the sandbelt course will host the event, after doing so in 1998 and 2011.

The Cup is a golf tournament between a Unites States team and an International team, excluding Europe.

It is held every two years and the US currently hold a 9-1 lead, with one draw.

The exact dates for the 2019 edition are yet to be announced by the PGA.

Royal Melbourne is the oldest golf club in Australia and the only club to host the Presidents Cup on more than one occasions.

This year's tournament will be held at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey from September 26 to October 1.
